about us
Piccadilly Records was born in 1978, was taken over by the present management in 1990 and moved up the road to our current location in Manchester's record shopping Mecca, the Northern Quarter in 1997 - take a look!
We pride ourselves on our friendly, helpful service and our across-the-board range of music.
Please note that THIS WEBSITE IS NOT A STOCKLIST! As we are a real shop and not a computer-controlled warehouse, seeing a record listed here does NOT guarantee that we have it in stock.
We do try to keep the website as up-to-date as possible though, and once a limited item is no longer available we will remove it from sale.
As many of our records need to be ordered from overseas or from small distributors and labels, we recommend that you allow us 5 working days to order out of stock items for you.

this week's thoughts...
Hi Folks,
Hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend and are ready for your weekly musical top-up from us. As ever we have a great selection of music, so unwrap a sandwich, fire up the magic mix and have a listen.
The Olympics! Wasn't it absolutely brilliant. I'm sticking my name in the lucky dip for 2012 right now (or whenever they do one).
But why wait four years to go out? Instead how about dodging the rain this weekend? You'll need to pack a roll of lino and a pair of old school trainers to go to...
Electrospective (Islington Mill, Sat 30th Aug, 4pm - 3am, £6 after 10pm) which reunites some of the key DJs from the 80s Manchester electro scene (Greg Wilson - natch - Hewan Clarke, Colin Curtis, Chad Jackson and Mike Shaft), plus has breakdance crews (Broken Glass and Street Machine), a documentary ('The Birth of British B-boys') and street art by Gecko.
